Marathons, May Day and Five-Day Weekends.

1) Watched my first ever marathon. I'm doing it next year. In some form (half, relay, whole).
Marathons are cool for many reasons:
a) you get a nice tour of the city.
b) free bananas.
c) you have bragging rights.
d) you celebrate after.
p.s. we saw a Rasta running.

2) May Day.
All over Austria cities, towns, villages and neighborhoods had the day off to march in and set up their Maibäume, maypoles. Then tradition in Vienna seems to pretty much be to picnic in the Prater next to the Rock stage and play some sort of Swedish block-tossing game. May Day runs a close second to Thanksgiving, my favorite holiday of all time.
