Weekend Getaway in Rakovnik, Bublava and Praha, Czech Republic. (Now with added photo!)
We arrived and are ready to go...
So we made it to Rakovnik, a town about an hour outside of Prague, to visit Carolyn, our resident Chicagoan in Eisenstadt, and her French boyfriend that lives here...
Pit stop in a Czech village...little did we know how many pit stops we'd be making in search of Bublava... Good thing old men with beers in hand at the side of the road were willing to help us...
Always ask old Czech men with beer how to get to Bublava . Even if you can't quite understand, it's fun!
Did I explain why we left sleepy Rakovnik (not really so sleepy since it has a pop. 17,000 - hey that's 4,000 more than Eisenstadt) for Bublava? Oh, well Thoma's French coworker is marrying a Chinese girl there in May. We were there to check out the food, comfort and ambience of it all.But how many translators does it take for a Frenchman to explain to the German-speaking Czech woman exactly what he's hoping for to go down? Well, two, here at least.
