Windmills.

There are 250 windmills in Austria.
There is only 1 windmill in Austria that gives tours (in Bruck an der Leitha, Niki's home).
Windmills are able to provide 100% of the power for Bruck.
There are no nuclear power plants in Austria.
Windmills are made in the Netherlands or Germany and driven to Austria.
It takes three days to put one together and another week to get it hooked up and ready to go.
Austria has one big crane for the smaller windmills, but sometimes they have to borrow cranes from Germany.
In Austria they range from 60-100 meters high above ground.
Below ground, depending on the soil, they might only need to go 2.5 meters deep.
Wind only accounts for about 2% of Austria's power; hydropower is very important in the west.
Windmills are often struck by lightening, but should last at least twenty years once built.
Standing inside a windmill when it's turning its head to face the wind is fun.
